Which Pokemon Generation Is My Favorite?

Hey everyone! I know I haven't posted anything on this blog for a while now, and I plan on changing that in the month that's coming up, February. At least 2-3 posts a week! Anyways, let's get into this post!

Okay for the moment of truth, my favorite Pokemon generation is G/S (The remakes in particular HG/SS). I probably sound like everyone for saying Johto, but I really do have a deep love for Johto and here's why.

1.) You get to walk around with your Pokemon

Yes, just yes. I mean, this is the only remakes, or just games in particular that let you walk around with your Pokemon (besides Pokemon Yellow, which let's you walk around with Pikachu). I know, they probably won't do that again because of the 700+ Pokemon there are now. I would've really liked to see that on the new 3DS's or hopefully the Nintendo Switch.

2.) Has one of the best rivals

You have to admit that it was satisfying when you kicked his ass in battles. He grew as a trainer along with us when he stole one of the starter Pokemon from Professor Elm's lab. I also really like that he really developed as a person throughout the game's storyline. He went from a person who thought of Pokemon as tools, to a person who truly showed compassion and friendliness toward Pokemon by the end, as you see yourself when he evolves his Golbat into a Crobat; which needs a high friendship in order to evolve.

3.) The best post game of any generation.

This is one of the things I love most about this gen. You get to explore 2 regions, and relive what you loved back in the first gen. This game gives you the best of both worlds. You even get to battle the old gym leaders of the first gen which gives you a total of 16 badges to collect. Isn't that awesome?? Once your done with that, take your team to battle Red, the strongest trainer of all time.

Oh, but if your done with that, don't worry you can take on the Battle Frontier. If your bored, track down all the gym leaders, of both regions, get their numbers, and call them for a rematch! This is hands down the best post game in any gen.

4.) The PokeWalker

To finish off this list, the PokeWalker. I think this was the coolest thing ever as a kid. You get to transfer your Pokemon into a REAL LIFE POKEBALL AND WALK WITH IT. You can check how your buddy is doing through the screen. You can even battle and capture Pokemon on the PokeWalker. I've caught my fair share of Pidgeys. I think this is really cool because it was a small step forward into bringing the Pokemon we know and love into the real world. I know, I'm in my feels now.

New Pokemon Generations Episode #18 Just Released!

Hey readers! Just wanted to let you guys know, the last episode of Pokemon Generations has released! How do you feel about the episode? Are you sad that Pokemon Generations has ended? Comment your opinions down below, I'd love to read them!

My Opinions

The episode was great. It finally shed some light on something that I kind of wanted to clear up in Pokemon X/Y. The episode depicted the backstory of AZ's past, I got kind of choked up during this. I do have to say though, the games kind of depicted the story just a tiny bit better, but I'm sure it's just because they had like a 4-min time limit, so that doesn't bother me at all. Now I'm just sad that there is no more episodes of Generations, because the show was just awesome, and I really feel that they could make a FULL BLOWN SHOW of Pokemon Generations, and let Ash take a break. (I'm sorry, but if I see Ash lose ONE MORE League, I'm going to slap someone). But in all seriousness, this is definitely an idea they should look into, and it will definitely bring more hype into Pokemon again.

(Competive Strategy #1) Poison Heal (Ability)

Hey readers! I'm back with a new post! Okay, I know so of my experienced competitive battlers probably know what I'm going to be talking about, anyways though, let's cover the Poison Heal ability!

The Poison Heal ability was introduced in Generation 3 alongside the Pokemon Shroomish and Breloom, which at the time was their signature ability. But a few generations, it was also given to Gliscor.

The ability allows the Pokemon to heal 1/8 of your max HP every turn, when that Pokemon is poisoned, instead of taking poison damage.

This ability is huge in the competitive community because it makes for a great staller Pokemon. Staller Pokemon essentially, are Pokemon who's job is to stall while slowly taking out the other teams Pokemon. A good example of this is none other than Poison Heal Gliscor.

                              Strategy

The Poison Heal Gliscor for this example will know these 4 moves:

Toxic
Knock Off
Roost
Swords Dance

Okay, now that we have the moves, let's go on with the strategy. It's typing is by far the best stalling type Ground/Flying. This gives it only one weakness, Ice. Now, this Gliscor should be holding the Toxic Orb. If you need a Toxic Orb, you can find them in the Battle Maison shop for 16BP which is super-easy to get, in Pokemon X/Y. Alternatively, if you want one in ORAS (Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire), you can find one in the Battle Resort, for the same price as the one in X/Y. Now the reason we need a Toxic Orb, is because we want to purposely poison Gliscor to activate the Poison Heal ability. Once it is activated, your kind of invincible.

The move Roost will heal you in case your opponent is close to knocking Gliscor out. Toxic is an awesome move to poison your opponent. Don't worry, your opponent's Pokemon most likely doesn't have the Poison Heal ability considering the only Pokemon that can have this ability are Breloom (Hidden Ability) and Gliscor (Hidden Ability) so when they're poisoned, they'll slowly wear down, not to mention that poison damage is increased they longer the Pokemon is poisoned. The next move is Knock Off, because if you want to wear down your opponent, you have to have a move to do that. Knock Off is an all around great move to use, it deals pretty decent damage, and it also knocks off any item the opponent is holding, it's a win-win! Now the last move is Swords Dance, and this is really cool, because it drastically raises the Attack stat of a Pokemon. So that will help increase the power of Knock Off, and since most of the attacks your opponent will hit you with won't do much, you have tons of opportunities to use this move.

And that pretty much wraps it up, I really hope you readers can benefit from this post! Thanks for reading, and comment what you want me to cover in the next post!

Is Pokemon Generations To Dark?

Hey readers! Just wanted to throw something a little different at you with post! Recently the newest Pokemon Generations episode was released, Episode #17 and of course like all the other episodes, I loved it to death. Each episode let me relive an awesome moment in the Pokemon Franchise. But this one in particular has to be my favorite. Let me explain why.

The latest Pokemon Generations episode was The Investigation, which centered around the Looker post-game story in Pokemon X/Y. If you don't know the story here's the link to go and read yourselves, when your done you can come back. And if you want to see the Pokemon Generations Series yourselves, you can check it out on the Pokemon Official Channel on Youtube here, or check out yesterday's post here.

Now that your all caught up, I'm sure we all have to agree that Pokemon Generations was a great way to re-tell important moments in the games. It was genius. It was really enjoyable to see Pokemon in a more mature nature, and a little more mature art style. This kind of brings up the question, is Pokemon Generations a little too mature?

I mean Pokemon is meant for children, and honestly when you watch these short videos, you kind of forget that it's even Pokemon at all. And did you SEE WHEN EMMA KICKED MIMI??!!! That was probably the most INSANE part of the video. Which sort of separates this series from anything else we've seen of Pokemon.

But in all honesty I want MORE of Pokemon Generations, sadly though there's one more episode said to air before there's no more. I feel this would be a great thing to continue though, this would be especially awesome for us veteran Pokemon fans who need something a little more dark and intense from the franchise.

But that's what I think, but what do YOU think? Should Pokemon Company make a complete show of Pokemon Generations, or new show with a mature nature/darker undertone? Leave a comment down below, telling me what you think! Thanks for reading!

New Pokemon Generations Episode #17 Is Out Now!

Watch the video, trust me, it makes the story of Looker and Emma way more interesting! This is a retelling of the Looker Side Story in Pokemon X and Y! Comment down below if you like or dislike the Pokemon Generations series!

Attack:100
Defense:89
Sp. Atk:55
Sp. Def:69
Speed:112

Scolipede is an overall great Pokemon to use in competitive play. It has great Attack, with an outstanding Speed. You'd think a giant centipede would move a little slower! It's Defense and Sp. Def aren't really that great, and it's HP is something to brag about either, but there are multiple ways to work around these issues. Besides these down sides, Scolipede is a great a asset to the team.

X-Scissor is a good STAB/Coverage move, learned by TM. Poison Jab is just an awesome STAB move learned via TM. Earthquake is a great Coverage move for one of Scolipede's weaknesses learned via TM. Pursuit is great because it takes advantage of Scolipede's Speed to deal massive damage!

Competitive Pokemon #1 Abomasnow

Hey readers! The first I'm going to make on the topic of competitive battling is going to be on Abomasnow. Before I begin, just a disclaimer. I am not going to base my strategies on the REAL (Pokemon Video Game Competition) or VGC. I made this for you to try on your friends, the competitions really limit how much fun you can have. So without further ado, let's begin!

                                                         Overview

HP:90
Attack:92
Defense:75
Sp. Atk:92
Sp. Def:85
Speed:60

Abomasnow is a Grass/ Ice type Pokemon. So as you can see from the stats, Abomasnow seems to be an actually pretty good mixed attacker, with decent HP and Defense, and really low speed. Alot of people don't really use Abomasnow at all in battle because of it's 4X weakness to FIRE. It also hurts Abomasnow that it doesn't have enough Defense to help it out when it gets hit by a Fire type move. Abomasnow also has poor Speed, so it can't out-speed very much Pokemon out there. But Abomasnow has an awesome move-pool, and you have a variety of attacks to choose from, making it an awesome offensive Pokemon, that can take down any Defensive opponents with ease.

Move 1
    Blizzard
Move 2
    Giga Drain
Move 3
    Earthquake
Move 4
    Ice Shard

Let me explain why this would be such a great move set to use for Abomasnow. Blizzard is the strongest move that Abomasnow that can learn, so that in itself is a good reason for Abomasnow to know it. Giga Drain is good one to know because it restores the health that Abomasnow will lose rather quickly, and it's super effective against one of Abomasnow's weaknesses, Ground. It's also a good STAB move as well. Earthquake will be used to take out it's #1 weakness, Fire. Ice Shard is just a good STAB/Coverage move.

Thanks for reading! I know I didn't cover Mega Abomasnow, and it's because I felt Mega Abomasnow wouldn't get all the recognition it should get, so I'll be covering that in tomorrow's post! Again thanks for reading!
